What is KIDCoders Academy?
KIDCoders Academy is an in-person coding school for kids and teens at 245J Plaza Pointe-Claire, Boul. Saint-Jean, in Pointe-Claire, in Montreal's West Island. For more than 10 years, we have taught children ages 5 to 15 to code through after-school classes and school-break camps.
What ages do you teach?
KIDCoders Academy teaches ages 5 to 15. The After-School Coding Club is for ages 5 to 15, Code Jr. is for ages 5 to 8, and our March Break and Summer Camps are for ages 7 to 14.
How much do coding classes cost?
After-school tuition at KIDCoders Academy is $139 per month. Registration is $299 for new students and $199 for returning students. Code Jr. registration is $99, which covers your child's student account and their KIDCoders notebook.
Can my child try a class first?
Yes. KIDCoders Academy offers a $29 trial class for the After-School Coding Club, so your child can meet the teachers and build a first project before you commit. The trial applies to the After-School Coding Club only, not to camps. Book a trial class.
Does my child need coding experience?
No. Most KIDCoders students start with no coding experience at all. Teachers place each child at the right level and help them progress at their own pace.
What will my child learn?
At KIDCoders Academy, kids learn to code by building real projects such as games, animations, and websites. Younger students start with block-based tools like Scratch, and older students move on to text-based languages like Python and JavaScript. Along the way they build problem-solving, logic, and confidence.
Are classes in French or English?
KIDCoders Academy classes are taught in English. All of our teachers are fully bilingual, so French-speaking students can always get help in French.
How big are the classes?
KIDCoders Academy classes have a maximum of 25 students, with one teacher for every 10 students, so every child gets real attention.
Are classes in person or online?
All KIDCoders Academy classes and camps are in person at our Pointe-Claire location. Kids learn side by side with teachers and classmates, not alone behind a screen at home.
Do you work with schools?
Yes. KIDCoders Academy runs an after-school coding program at John Rennie High School in Pointe-Claire. Schools interested in a program can email us at info@kidcoders.ca.
Which areas do your students come from?
KIDCoders Academy is in Pointe-Claire and is an easy drive for families in Dorval, Kirkland, Beaconsfield, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, and across the West Island of Montreal.
Where is KIDCoders and where do I park?
KIDCoders Academy is at 245J Plaza Pointe-Claire, Boul. Saint-Jean, Pointe-Claire, QC H9R 3J1. We are on the east wing of the plaza, at the corner of Maywood and Donegani.
Parking is free and on site, right outside our entrance. For drop-off and pickup, enter the plaza from Donegani at Maywood.
What is the KIDCoders Summer Camp?
The KIDCoders Summer Camp is an in-person coding day camp for ages 7 to 14 in Pointe-Claire, running in 2-week sessions through July and August. Campers build their own coding projects with small groups and experienced teachers. See summer camp dates and details.
What forms do I need to fill out before camp?
Please complete two forms before your child's first day of camp: the camp registration form, which includes the information we need for your RL-24 tax slip, and the emergency contact form.
